What is Purpose?
-
Purpose is a musician and composer who specializes in creating custom scores that are tailored to fit your brand's needs for advertisements, brand identities, and documentaries. The music is carefully crafted to elicit the specific emotions you desire from your audience.
-
You wouldn’t want to look bad as a brand, would you? because you know that image is important!
How concerned are you about how your brand sounds though? Music has the power to tell a story, create an experience and move emotions like no other medium can do.
So, whether you’re wanting us to design an audio logo for you, or think about the audio experience your customers have, Purpose would love to work with you in making this happen. -
With a wealth of experience mixing in studios and live environments, from genres ranging from Heavy Metal to Jazz. Purpose is delighted to offer customised mixing packages to bring your dream sound to life.
-
Our business focuses on building relationships to celebrate artist, composer, and producer’s wins amidst the competitive music industry. Purpose’s aim is to one day be a place where people can enter the industry using Purpose as a springboard.
But for now, let’s connect and collaborate.
Why is Purpose?
Music has the ability to evoke emotions that images alone cannot. Take a moment and imagine your favorite scene in a movie. Now think about the music that accompanies it. How does it make you feel? How does it affect the way you perceive that scene?
Now, try watching that same scene again, but this time mute the sound and play a different piece of music. For example, the iconic Jaws music, with its ominous minor 2nd interval, instantly creates a sense of impending danger. But, if you play James Brown's upbeat music instead, the same scene no longer feels threatening and may even seem humorous.
It's amazing how music can alter our perception of what we see.
Are you communicating the right message audibly?
Is your visual branding on point? It probably is, but how about your audio?
How much time are you considering how you sound to your prospective clients and audience?
Does your audio communicate with purpose?
Let Purpose Music help your message find its purpose.
Behind the Purpose
Hi, I’m Nathan McCarthy, a composer and multi-instrumentalist living in the Channel Islands.
Originally from Southeast London, I was raised on a mix of Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Rock and Pop which, alongside a very musical family, left me with a very deep well of musical influence that drives every note, every idea, and every mix decision I make in my bespoke audio work.
From 2010-to 2013, I was in a Progressive metal/ Djent band, Tradjectory, as one of the guitarists, vocalists and recording synth player. We had the privilege of opening the first-ever UkTech Fest alongside amazing bands and releasing a full-length concept album. Shaping the experience in me as writer and performer.
From 2013 onwards, I have been an independent and solo Christian Worship artist, featured on UCB 2 radio nationally around the UK. I continue to work on my solo music and look forward to where that goes, but Purpose has a different purpose… I have often struggled with emotions, but Music has always been an avenue that has allowed me to explore and communicate them without necessarily having to communicate them verbally, and my hope, as a musician and composer, is that my music would allow people to feel things, and permit them to feel things.
